Academia and Their Subtle Brain Washing
Often when academia college professors assign a project they are putting forth “suggestive reading” thus they wish the completed project, data and the charts to mimic pre-determined outcomes. This is a problem in that it is completely using a technique called diplomacy. In other words the art of letting someone else get your way. When this is done in our colleges and universities it is extremely unethical as it is telling or selling and not teaching one to think.
So often we see this in society as well with Liberal Think Tanks and Democratic Law Firms who work as “K-street Lobbyist Firms” and the similarities to their techniques and academia are all too telling. These predetermined outcomes represent an attempt to change public perception.
Often government agencies put forth reports also as they self evaluate and in those reports, as good as it maybe (or not) these reports are often rejected by the media. Thus any attempts for those agencies to further use a visualization tool; website pictures, charts, graphs and such of surveys, polls and manipulation of the already hashed over data in order to re-introduce what has already been rejected then it will immediately be called into question. Often they will suggest additional reading in order to bring the viewer to their point of view. Of course in the end is as this pre-determined examples that are used as tools of diplomacy.
For those who immediate see thru this tactic they will attack such notions and then caste them back into the media thus taking the eyes of the public away from the agency’s current perception of “piss poor portrayed performance” by the purveyors of mass media hysteria. In the end the public is baffled by bull crap and the agency receives next years budget money and the game continues, but who wins? Why do we allow this? Because it is socially acceptable and considered academically correct in the over all political correctness in complete denial of reality. Consider this philosophical thought in 2006.

It very well could be real, but for now it’s the latest heart-pounding fiction book, Sledgehammer, about a terrorist who arrives in the ER with smallpox symptoms. An ER physician suspects it but has just six days to convince hospital executives and the U.S. Government before an epidemic breaks out.
The story is brought vividly to life by Dr. Paulo J. Reyes who obtained his MD at the UCSF School of Medicine, has 25 years in medicine and internal medicine and is a First Responder for the busiest cities in California specifically in terrorists training.
In Sledgehammer, the lead character, Max Kroose, an intuitive emergency room physician, believes terrorists are to blame for the attack and fears the more lethal form of smallpox, called Sledgehammer, will kill within days. As time progresses, the terrorists planned attacks at a sports arena, mall and airport must be stopped. The question becomes can this ER doctor convince the hospital administration and the public health care system about the presence of this deadly disease and the need to vaccinate the American public. You won’t be able to stop reading as you seek to find out the truth in this non-stop thriller.
How big a threat is smallpox? “The Federal Government should allow voluntary smallpox vaccinations to protect us from smallpox bioterrorist attacks,” says Dr. Reyes. “At the very least the Federal Government should allow voluntary vaccinations of the first responders which should include all hospital medical staff. The President and the military have been vaccinated. Why shouldn’t the American public?”
Dr. Reyes also authored Health-Care Reform or Redistribution of Cost? and in his research of the health care system, he has seen its shortcomings. Realizing there is clear and present danger of a terrorist attack in the health care system has prompted him to support voluntary smallpox vaccinations.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) considers smallpox as a possible danger and includes it as one of the possible agents of a bioterrorist attack, in its website under the subheading Emergency Preparedness and Response along with anthrax, plague, and tularemia.
Reyes believes the Federal Government should consider a trial program to detect the presence of the virus – similar to a pregnancy test – so if the disease presents itself, it will be detected before it becomes an epidemic or pandemic.
The American public is immuno-nave to smallpox, which means it could spread very rapidly, Reyes says. And containment could be even more difficult or impossible if the virus was aerosolized, which the CDC believes may be the case, he says.
With new terrorist attacks continually happening in the United States and the fear of a global pandemic, Sledgehammer is a gripping book to get a real insight into what could possibly lie ahead unless immediate action is taken. All The Roadrunning by Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris CD Review
Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris have collaborated to release a truly outstanding CD entitled All The Roadrunning. I don’t know who’s idea it was to combine the guitar of Dire Straits and the voice of Emmylou Harris, but who ever they are it was sheer genius.
This CD features the kind of music we just don’t get very often anymore, and from what I hear the concert tour they’re doing together this summer is something to behold as well.
I haven’t seen the live show yet but on the recorded CD Knopfler and Harris display so much musical chemistry, and are so good together it’s downright scary. One of those pairings that was clearly “just meant to be”.
The CD launches with a great track, Beachcombing, that will definitely be heard on radio stations everywhere, and deservedly so. From there this charming duo proceeds to display why they are individually at the top of their field. With Knopfler’s distinctive guitar riffs, and Harris with that voice. Oh my, that voice.
These days it’s a very rare CD on which every single song is good or better than the one before it. This CD is certainly one of those rare CDs.
If you’re a fan of either of these artists, or even just a fan of good music this is a must have collection. You will not be disappointed
All The Roadrunning is without question one of the better CD releases music fans have been treated to in a few years. Album of the year material for sure. It’s that good.
While this entire CD is outstanding the truly standout tunes are I Dug Up A Diamond [track 2], Red Staggerwing [track 4], and Love and Happiness for You [track 6]. My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1, Beyond My Wildest Dreams. Very nice!
