Vacations for the Environmentally Friendly Traveler

Dozens keen skiers will soon be trying to find their skiing gear and scooting away in search of the heaviest snowfall. And doubtless the result from your carbon footprint will be almost as far down the list of holiday essentials as a Christmas cracker after xmas. Just last winter, a late snowfall made the the headlines and holidaymakers were terrified about the flakes of snow melting almost as soon as they put down.

Skiing holiday company Chalets France, placed at the base of Monte Bianco in Chamonix Haute Savoie France in the Alps, is one of the first autonomous firms to go carbon negative and offer skiers an environmentally friendly choice while organising their ski trip. Chalet1802 proprietor Brisa said: Last year was quite a shock with the hottest winter in fifty five yrs in the French Alps. Mountain skiing areas like Chamonix, Chamonix and Megeve lacked clients. It was balmy and the snow didnt last so much of the early season ski season in the mountains was uneven. We determined to become carbon neutral to assist in the preservation the snowboarding resort.

Brisa said: We’re not seeking to dictate to holiday makers only we consider it is crucial to give the guests the selection without increasing the cost of the holiday. When the customer book with us and vacations in our Chamonix luxury chalet they may more than off set their carbon output and we take in the additional costs. Naturally we still have a sauna and a hot tub – customers want lavishness but not at the expense of the alps mountains, so we viewed methods of diminishing the impact of someone driving over here for a skiing holiday.”

The company have moreover partnered with group Climate Care, who tackles global warming by making carbon dioxide reductions for individuals and firms.
